Snowflakes and Differences…

A couple different edits of the same view...

This picture shows hundreds, maybe thousands of different little snowflakes. I took it with my iPhone to see how clearly it would turn out, and was amazed at all the different shapes that it shows. I then began to look closer, and realized that many had similarities but were also very different…

Snowflake lessons…what an amazon thing God has down with the simple snowflake…

Snowflakes are the same, but different…

Snowflakes are all identical in the fact that they from the same, but they all end up being very different (if you are a snowflake scientist, please don't comment that I have made a huge mistake by using the “identical” word). We humans start off the same and yet we all grow to be very different, not matter what our upbringing, environment and family situation. We all have some of the exact same traits, but there are vast differences in each and everyone of us. I say that’s AWESOME! Just imagine if we were all alike and didn't have the amazing variety that we do.

Snowflakes connect well together…

Even though there are major differences between us (look at the snowflakes and the cool variety that are represented), we still work together well. Snowflakes from separately, but then become a very intricate blanket as they fall to the earth. They have ways to join together to make something beautiful, even stunning. We people have that same thing. When we work together on a project, goal or mission, we have tremendous impact on others and ourselves, and we create a support structure that is tightly wound and doesn't separate easily.

Snowflakes are simple…

We humans think we are so complex, but when it gets down to it, we are pretty simple, and that reminds me of how we miss our simple purpose to glorify God in all that we do. We try to make life, Heaven, and all we do, a greater challenge than it should be. Really, life is simple when you boil it down - we should be glorifying God, and impacting others the right way. That seems too simple sometimes, but if that becomes our focus, we are on the right, simple track.

Snowflakes bring joy and sorrow…

We all experience great ups and downs, big laughs and large cries, and we have joy and sorrow. Snowflakes are neat to watch fall, and bring joy to our eyes when we first see them, but they become frustrating once we realize we are stuck, have to shovel, and cant run our routines during a day. Our lives are like that too, and we need to capture the joyful times, so that we can remember them when the hard times hit.

Snowflakes start off soft…

Just like a baby, a snowflake starts off soft, but when the heat and pressures of life occur, the baby can become a hardened teen, and the snowflake, a pack of ice. We have to guard ourselves against this occurring. If we become hardened then we cant impact the people around us the right way, and we lose effectiveness. The hardened teen and adult becomes self focused and generally trips up, in life, just like ice cause falls to those that step on it.

Lessons Learned: God gives us simple lessons through His creation, if we’re attentive.

Thoughts: Are you learning? Are you the snowflake or the ice?
