Tennessee often has 3-4 foot snowdrifts.
It has many storms each winter, and it cripples the entire State with each one.
Snow-days are rare, so kids take advantage of them; enjoying skiing the fresh powder.
As you view the picture, a blizzard is rolling through, leaving at least 1/4 inch of snow…
It shuts down Tennessee and schools close immediately.
The little show that Tennessee gets taught me a few lessons…
1. Everyone reacts to things differently…
Some people hate the snow, and others love it. Neither is wrong, and neither is right. It’s okay to react to things differently than others, as long as you're kind to the opinions of others. Differences in people make us all work together well, and blend our abilities towards common goals. Differences allow us to learn from people and their lives. Differences are good for us and our history and life experiences make us who we are.
2. We should take snow days more often…
A snow day, to me, is a day with family, or a day to get something else done, other than the normal life. It immediately makes me think about fun, and we don't have fun enough, in our busy lives and we need that release of fun every single day.
3. We should never get rid of the kid in us…
Why idd we have t grow up? Seriously, wasn't it awesome being a kid? We had fun most all the time and almost never worried about anything. We focused on friends and on the moment. We had joy in the little things. We just focused on life and living, and not on the mundane details of life.
Lessons Learned: This year, let’s take some snow days, even in July!
Thoughts: What will you do on your snow-day?
