Killing weeds and setting boundaries…

I saw this truck streaming weed killer along the roadway the other day. I’m not totally sure why it was doing that ,since it seemed like a spot that weed-eaters could get to, but  they must have had a reason to do it.
Weeds are a pain and sometimes you have to spray them to be sure to kill them dead, at least for awhile.
The spray was taking care of some things…

Strange tree growth...

This tree is likely on its last leg.
It’s growing on one side, on the bottom and not on the top, or other side.
Looking at the ways that trees grow, you will see some wacky patterns and strange directions.
The only real plan that a tree has for growth is to go up. How they grow up in many directions and create some mazing patterns.
Humans are a little different. We have a guidebook and some direction to the way we should grow.
However...

Mailboxes and fixing…

My mailbox is fixed!
A little more than a month ago, I posted about someone hitting my mailbox in “Mailboxes and patience…” That post has the damaged pictures too.
I was bothered by the incident and failed at the immediate patience part that was needed, in dealing with an accident. It wasn’t on purpose and it wasn’t really a big deal, and today is an update on lessons learned…

Caution lights and change…

I saw this new traffic light put up in a small town near where I live. It was flashing yellow.
It’s only the second traffic light in the city - obviously not a mega-metropolis.
It’s a big change for folks in that place, since the other light has been there for well more than 20 years.
I’ll bet that folks are reacting with a couple likely thoughts.
Why do we need another traffic light? Or…
It’s about time - that intersection is way too busy.
Maybe there are other reactions, but change happens, and so do caution lights, before the changes…

Garbage and memories…

I was sitting, in my car, in a parking lot, when I looked in the rearview mirror seeing this trash receptacle. I don’t usually look out my mirrors when I’m sitting in a parking lot, especially my passenger side mirror - there’s really not a reason too, while I’m sitting.
I just happened to glance at it this time.
I think the Lord uses our everyday experiences to remind us of how He helps us and loves us.
It says that objects may be closer than they appear.
Who wants trash close to them?
It brought some thoughts about the past up…

Elbow?

I went bowling a couple of weeks ago and while we were there, I saw this sign.
I know that companies market their businesses to many people in many different ways, but this one made me think.
Why the elbow?

Sled running and the Blvd…

The other day, I stopped in a parking lot to make a phone call (my car is often my cubicle, so parking lots make for good offices). As I was making a call, I looked over and saw this guy running with a weighted sled behind him. When I looked a little closer, I realized there were four guys and they were all doing different exercises.
One was using a fairly large medicine ball.
One was using a kettle weight.
One was doing pushups and other non-weight exercises.
And of course there was the sled.
The odd thing to me was…

Falling apart…

Life comes at us very fast and changes come along quicker than we can possible expect.
Sometimes the changes are negative or hurtful and they start to cause us to fall part at the edges. We see the issues and we try to patch them up, but they just keep fraying away at the corners of our lives.
Falling apart can happen in any part of our lives. It doesn’t have to be the whole thing. It can be a small area, but it still impacts our whole person. Sometimes, one area decays some and it spreads to other areas like a disease. Sometimes you get hit by a number of items at the same times and they all fall apart.
Whether these issues are your fault or out of your control, you have some options…

Swift Saturday #3…

Saturdays are a great day.
I love the fact that I get more family time and I get things done around the house.
I don’t read a lot of blogs on Saturdays, so I’ll keep this one short, so you don’t either…
